万捷董事长在今年全国政协会议上的《呼吁制定禁止鱼翅贸易法规》提案，近日获悉获得英国著名慈善机构“保卫鲨鱼”国际组织（The Shark Trust）颁发的“鲨鱼保护先进大奖”（SHARK CHAMPION award）。

　　“保卫鲨鱼”国际组织是英国鲨鱼保护的非政府慈善组织，该组织是目前欧洲公认的重要的民间组织。致力于通过科学、教育、影响与行动，呼吁全世界保护鲨鱼。“保卫鲨鱼”国际组织来函对万捷董事长在全国政协会中提出《呼吁制定禁止鱼翅贸易法规》的提案表示非常欣赏，“保卫鲨鱼”国际组织委员会所有理事一致通过，向万捷先生颁发《鲨鱼保护先进大奖》。

　　该奖项颁奖仪式将于六月初在北京英国大使馆隆重举行。

Dear Mr Wan Jie,


The Shark Trust is a UK registered charity (NGO) which was founded in 1997. The Trust is now widely recognised as the leading NGO in Europe working on shark conservation to ensure a future for this threatened group of animals.


It was with great interest that we became aware of your involvement in ground breaking initiatives in China working to raise public awareness regarding the subject of shark finning, and your formal proposal to the National People's Congress for legislation to control the trade in shark fins.


The Shark Trust board recognises companies and individuals who make outstanding contributions to shark conservation by offering SHARK CHAMPION awards. The board of the Trust would like to offer you a SHARK CHAMPION award, and this has been unanimously approved by the Trust board of directors. We are also offering the award to Mr Xingsheng Zhang and to Mr Ding Liguo, and are delighted that Mr Xingsheng Zhang has already accepted.


The awards would be presented at a special lunch at the British Ambassador's residence at a time convenient to all.


We would deem it an honour if you agreed to accept this prestigious award.
